              Prof E.Selvarajan, FBSS joined Department of Genetic Engineering, School of Bioengineering, SRMIST in 2016 as Research Assistant Professor. His doctoral research focused on Immobilization of β-galactosidase from Lactobacillus plantarum VITES07 on ZnO nanoparticles: Charaterization and lactose hydrolysis in treating lactose intolerance across the globe.  Nevertheless, he also worked on multiple projects which include enhanced production of α-amylase, staphylokinase, streptokinase and nattokinase, Bioremediation of endosulfan contaminated soil, Fermentative production of extracellular pigment from Streptomyces coelicolor.  His major research interests are in the areas of microbial, enzyme and bioprocess technology, which spans over various programs, including probiotics and nutraceuticals and microbial  bioactives for drug development and health benefits. He has 30 publications, which include, 5 book chapters, 25 original and review papers, etc with h index of 7 and 216 citation (Goggle scholar).  Prof Selvarajan is serving as reviewer for many journals such as  Journal of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology, Brazilian Archieves of Biology and Technology, Indian Journal of Biotechnology, Molecular Biology Reports, 3 Biotech etc
