Miss Nabanita Chakraborty is the single child to her parents born and raised in Dibrugarh (Tea city of India) Assam. She is convent educated with bachelors in Botany from DHSK College, Dibrugarh University and Masters in Biotechnology from SRM Arts and Science College, Madras University scoring first class distinction throughout. Her research career begun from Indian Statistical Institute, Baranagar, Kolkata where she worked for almost four years on Allelopathy and chemical characterization of allelopathic compounds. Presently she is a DST Women Scientist ‘A’ Fellow with her own project on Allelopathy of aquatic macrophytes and their impact on aquatic ecosystem on experimental and statistical perspective at ICAR-Central Inland Fisheries Research Institute (CIFRI). Simultaneously she is also pursuing her PhD registered under Vidyasagar University, Midnapore, from her own Project. She is ingeniously guided by Dr. Archan Kanti Das, Principal Scientist, ICAR- CIFRI and Dr. Basudev Mandal, Assistant Professor, Vidyasagar University. She has 9 international publications, 7 conference proceedings, 1 book chapter and holds as reviewer of an international journal. As extracurricular, she is a state victor in debate and loves playing chess.
